Old Timers Picket Pension Row At Hall of Fame Game

In Canton Ohio NFL alumni protested outside Fawcett Stadium where the St Louis Cardinals faced the Buffalo Bills in a pre season game. They demand inclusion in the pension plan for players before 1959, with NFL Alumni Association leader Leon Hart and NFLPA president Bill Curry leading the pickets. Marie Lombardi and other legends supported, while the strike involved rookies and free agents on the field. A class action suit over pension rights is in Providence awaiting a Sept hearing, as union and player groups clash over concessions and a lingering dispute.
