Oklahoma City July 27 Donald Knepper 24 held in jail as authorities seek to solve the slaying of his 75 year old grandmother Mrs O N Weiser Deputy Sheriff Dan Kean said the youth admitted strangling the woman and cutting her throat with his pocket knife Knepper described by his father as a former honor student at Oklahoma A and M college had been staying at a neighbor's home while the family was away
In Camden New Jersey relatives of Miss Margaret McDermott a 70 year old spinster who died June 4 1935 filed in circuit court to set aside a will probated last August 30 bequeathing income from a $20000 estate to her dog Pet. The suit by Martin J. Clark of Chicago and Mary J Prendergast of Los Angeles second cousins alleges Miss McDermott was of unsound mind when the will was drawn.
Chicago report describes a robbery where cashier Rene Quinn handed over $70 after sobbing failed to draw attention. The robber concealed a small pistol, grinned, then escaped as bystanders ignored the scene.

In Warnemunde on July 27 Col Charles A Lindbergh witnessed Ernst Udet, head of the air ministry technical division, bail out from a test flight as the aircraft broke apart in the air. Udet escaped with minor injuries and was expected to fly again within a week.

About 30 000 attendees heard German vice consul William Tannenberg praise the regime as police reported clashes erupted when a Swastika flag was snatched. Dozens were injured.
Dallas July 27 Representative Tom Blanton of Abilene trailed Judge Clyde L. Garrett in the Democratic Texas primary returns. Garrett led with 22 453 to 17 975 votes and both proceed to a runoff. Governor Cox Jimme allied neared reelection with 439134 votes and a clear majority.
Policeman G. C. EB Allen of Mecklenburg was seriously injured in a collision between his motorcycle and a car driven by D. J. Keeter of Grover Belmont. The crash occurred today in Charlotte.
