Small Windstorm Cleaves Deep River Area
A bantam-size windstorm cut a freakish path of destruction through the Deep River community just before 4 pm. It leveled corn, uprooted trees, tore down aerials and fences, and unroofed farm buildings along Willard Road near Deep River Friends Church. Winds reached 51 mph with funnel-like surface gusts, causing power outages and telephone interruptions. A roof fragment was hurled along Highway 68 near the James Eller residence.
