Streeton Sentenced for Murder in Raleigh Court
Charles Gonzaga Streeton was found guilty of first degree murder in a six day trial over the slaying of his crippled brother in law, Carl H. Davis, on March 14. The jury recommended life imprisonment, and Judge George B. Patton ordered confinement for life in the state's union in Raleigh, North Carolina. An automatic appeal to the State Supreme Court was filed by defense counsel.

Typhoon Hits Okinawa Sends Silence Over Base
A typhoon struck Okinawa with 126 mph winds causing a communications blackout at the U S air base.
