Rebecca Ann Dobbins and Clyde Curtis Cooper married in a Friday evening home ceremony amid white gladioli and palms. Rev. Kenneth Hyde officiated. Rebecca wore white lace organdy with blue trim and carried a white Bible. The bride’s parents hosted a cake cutting and refreshments afterward. The couple plan to live in Sophia after a short wedding trip.

Miss Merriam Martin was guest of honor at a Friday evening shower hosted by Mrs. Bob Surratt with associate hostesses Mrs. Tommy Spainhour and Mrs. Larry Martin. A corsage of red and white carnations crowned the bride to be as yellow and white gladioli brightened the refreshment table. Thirty guests enjoyed punch cake nuts and mints. Gifts included a tailored white bedspread for the upcoming marriage to Denton Smith set for August.
