THOMASVILLE Sherri Walker of Roanoke Virginia and Calvin G. McDowell were united in marriage in a ceremony held in Roanoke indicating a union between the couple and detailing the families involved and the location.
The groom, a Trinity High School graduate working for Southern Life Insurance Co., is the son of Mamie Thayer of Trinity and the late Homer Thayer. They plan to reside at 2403-2 Dane St.
The ceremony at First United Methodist Church featured bride Mary Walker daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Walker Jr and groom Mr. McDowell son of Mr. and Mrs. J G McDowell Roanoke Va. Rev Bob Walters officiated. Maid of honor Vicki Skinner. bridesmaids Rebecca Ellington and others. best man chose his father. The bride, controller at Frame One Corp of America, Inc, and the groom, president, were joined Saturday evening with music by Warren Carty and Joe Walker.
John F. Robinson and Mrs. Robinson announce the engagement of their daughter Mary Gina to Kyle D. Hill of Archdale son of Mrs. James Grayson Hill. They plan a Sept 24 wedding at First Presbyterian Church with a reception in the church fellowship hall.
Sharon Sue Cranford and Robert Lee Von Koontz Jr. of Lexington were wed at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Thomasville. Rev. Alvin B. Fupe and Rev. William H. Dingus officiated, with family members and friends in attendance.
