Treaty At Hand The Law of the Sea conference nears a negotiating text
At UN in New York the United Nations Conference on the Law of the Sea wraps its sixth session after eight weeks of talks. The informal composite negotiating text proposes 12 mile territorial waters and 200 mile economic zones, shared seabed mining, and pollution controls with a future International Seabed Authority and Enterprise mining arm.
