Nuclear Protest Ship Fri Receives Supplies Off Mururoa
The protest schooner Fri received relief from yacht Arven about 135 miles from Mururoa Atoll as France prepares nuclear tests in the South Pacific. Fri pilot David Moodie said the crew of 10 men and three women would return to the danger zone around the atoll despite New Zealand caution. French naval activity near Mururoa increases as weather or air conditions may affect the situation. The Otago would intervene only if the Fri faces danger, not to stop French actions.
