Negroes Flee Neb Town After Death Of Officer
North Platte Nebraska residents fled the town by auto train and other conveyances after police officer Edward Green was shot by Louis Seelman a negro and Seelman killed himself. The mob formed outside Seelman s home threatening further violence and many negroes left the city while police guarded them. 167 Cars Stolen in State in June and 142 Found
Raleigh July 13 167 cars were stolen in North Carolina during June and 142 recovered according to a monthly report by Leland Harris head of the motor theft bureau. Of those recovered 67 had been stolen in earlier months and 75 were taken in June. Ninety two of the June thefts remained unrecovered.
