Textile Employment Climbs in Southeast Mills May Rise
Atlanta AP reports May saw a second straight month of gains in Southeastern textile mill employment, adding 12,100 workers. Eight-state total reached 626,400, with Florida the only yearly increase at 1,000. Mill workers averaged 38.9 hours, earnings rose to 3.26 hourly and 126.81 weekly.
