Washington AP reports three weeks of rapid action since the civil rights bill passage has revived hopes that Congress will finish its 1964 session by the Democratic National Convention. Day Camp Registration Set Monday

California Race Riot Breaks Up in Redwood City
In Redwood City California police and sheriff's deputies confronted about 100 youths for over an hour ending a riot with racial overtones. A youth was stabbed and a man was pinned to a wall breaking a leg. Several cars damaged and two drive-in diners were attacked. Eight arrests were made. Neon Negro demonstrators from Hunters Point were named as inciters. Joseph Chetcuti, 18, was slashed in the neck while fleeing to his car.
