Duke Divinity Grads Aid Scottish Parish Cooperation spans Scotland and Duke Divinity

Duke Divinity School graduates have assisted St Michael's Church in Dumfries and echoed across Aberdeen in a long running interdenominational partnership. The program began a decade ago when Rev Harold Cockburn appealed for a Duke educated minister to aid the historic parish. The first volunteer Rev Jackson W Carroll later became Duke chaplain for Methodist students. Subsequent Duke ministers have served weekly services and even helped with a Christmas pageant, while a Duke assistant aided a royal visit and the Burns tomb. Now two Aberdeen parishes seek Duke graduates as assistants, continuing this cross Atlantic church connection.
