Group backs peak load pricing in North Carolina
A High Point consumer group will urge the State Utilities Commission to adopt peak load pricing to curb Duke Power rate increases. Co chairperson Mark McDaniel Jr. will present at a Burlington hearing amid a pending 23.6 percent rate request. The plan targets higher daytime charges to flatten demand and justify $50 million in metering installs.
