Rent Control Question Splits Davidson County Officials
A heated debate over rent control pits Governor Scott against local authorities who claim the action was illegal. County commissioners dispute their power to decontrol and await a ruling from Federal Housing Expeditor Tighe E. Wood after a Davidson delegation pressed for decontrol. The governor later ordered removal citing county evidence, while officials say a public hearing and city level recommendation are required. Meanwhile, a stalled army surplus training plane remains unclaimed on Davidson farmland.
