Burlington July 7 The section force of the Southern railway company here has ceased work over wage cuts. Reports say the men were nonunion and quit because wages dropped to under eight dollars a day. They seek other jobs offering higher pay.
Ray Kinkerton his wife and five children aged up to 12 were burned to death when a blaze leveled their farm near Moberley Missouri last night investigators said today.
President Harding and his party leave Columbus between nine and ten this morning for the return motor trip to Washington.
The High Point City Council sold 250000 in school bonds to Commercial National Bank at noon in the city manager's office. The bank bid 62968750 at 6.25 percent, the lowest of four bids for both school and street bonds. Other bidders included R M Grant New York and First National St Louis with higher bids and rates.
W T Parker longtime High Point leader died after brain embolism at local hospital age 60. He helped shape High Point furniture and paper industries, chaired Parker Paper & Twine Co, and served Guilford College trustees. Funeral Sunday at Guilford College Friends church with local and Greensboro dignitaries among pallbearers.

Birmingham report says Governor Kilby refused to grant state aid for policing railroad property after Albany requests. Union leaders deny intimidation of Louisville and Nashville guards and say picketing remains orderly.
Joseph F. Valentine president of the International Moulders union said the executive committee approved strike benefits of 9 dollars a week for moulders in railroad shops striking against wage cuts. About 2,500 moulders work in railroad shops and roughly 1,000 have already walked out as pay fell from 77 to 70 cents an hour.
Syracuse July 7 clerks on the New York Central Lines voted to strike as part of a general unionwide ballot. The vote covered railway clerks freight handlers and station staff and follows similar action by Lackawanna clerks.
