Japan faces a severe food crisis as the American British blockade tightens sea and air lines. Hunger targets all ages while rice and fish supplies dwindle, with 20 percent of foodstuffs imported and rice harvest in October hoped to ease shortages amid growing isolation and oil shortages.
Lieut. Max Augustine spoke of music at his recent marriage to Corinne Pauly. During the ceremony a baritone sang a tune he composed at sea five weeks earlier titled God Gave Me You.
London reports the pre election campaign concluding with a crescendo of boos and cheers aimed at Winston Churchill.
