In Thomasville on July 4 a party hosted by Mrs. G L Bryant and Misses Blanche Gant and Lara Johnson celebrated Miss Helen Albertson, the bride elect, with a mil Kensington shower. Guests enjoyed games and a doll bride craft contest, with Mildred Harris winning a handkerchief prize. Bridal telegrams and greetings followed.

RALEIGH July 3 The senate of the new state advisory parole board created by the 1935 legislature was complete today Governors Ehringhaus appointed T D Bryson of Durham J F Spruill of Lexington and R Sentelle of Southport as members The group joins Governor A A F Seawell Capus Waynick chairman of the highway commission and Mrs W T Best commissioner of charities and public welfare Details are being worked out by Parole Commissioner Edwin M Gill under Governor Ehringhaus direction

Three year old Donald Parks explored a tee box and bit a thermometer bulb, swallowing mercury. Doctors administered vinegar and white of eggs as a chaser. no ill effects were reported.
