Retired Board Opposes Renewal of High Point Fire Contract
The 10-A Fire Protective District retirees oppose renewing the contract with High Point City that would let the rural unit continue providing fire protection to High Point residents. They argue the city, by annexation, should furnish city facilities and be obligated to serve the annexed area starting July 1, 1960. Residents in Davidson County seek to keep the rural department and expand into Davidson for continued operation. City council was asked to renew month to month until a city station is built.
