Papers Force Price Hikes Across Cities
News publishers raise prices by three to five cents per copy while home delivery subscriptions increase by five to ten cents weekly. Several dailies lift Sunday edition prices to 15 or 20 cents, with some papers also adjusting mail or delivery rates as circulation costs rise. An editor notes ongoing strain on circulation and advertising in response to higher newsprint costs. A Texas circulation manager cites pressure to adjust rates amid rising production costs.
