Judge Delays Decision in High Point Trackage Dispute
Judge Lewis E. Teague held a special session to hear High Point’s bid for a restraining order against Duke Power and the Duke Power High Point Thomasville Denton railroad over street tracks. He withheld ruling pending briefs. Attending were Duke Power officials, city attorneys, railroad representatives, and observers. The city alleges more than ten years of poor track maintenance caused $35,000 in damages to West Russell Street, while the railroad notes Duke Power may own no usable interest and could convey any rights to the city or railroad.
