In Abingdon Virginia on January 30 a two car collision injured nine people. James Nathaniel Smith of Lake City South Carolina was in critical condition with a back injury. Plato Reece of Mars Hill North Carolina and W H Anderson of Asheville North Carolina were hospitalized in Bristol with rib and knee injuries.
