At least two deaths occurred in Virginia as snow depths exceeded a foot in several areas and drifts reached three feet. Chains or snow tires were required statewide. gales and high tides threatened coastlines from Georgia to Maine with 2–4 foot tides and beach erosion. Snow tapered across West Virginia and parts of Pennsylvania overnight.
