Rate Increase Denied by Southern Trucking Figures
Charlotte January 27 An official from the Charlotte Shippers and Manufacturers Association reports that southern trucking firms seeking a four percent rate rise are not justified. W S Creighton cites a regional data set showing 100 operators earned 48 197 199 dollars and spent 5 719 526 dollars in the first nine months of 1943 with a 94.9 percent rating, compared with a 95 percent national rate, arguing the southern ratio outperforms the nation and does not support higher rates.
