Small Town Inspires Writing says Doris Betts
Doris Betts told 175 High Point women at Schrafft's Plaza Room that small towns offer rich material for her writing. She contrasted life in a North Carolina town with New York City and praised local criticism and support for authors. The luncheon, organized by Thelma Patrick, Fred Thomas Jr., and H O Williams, aims to spark future cultural events in High Point.
