Eye Appeal Winds Through Chicago Furniture Market
Industry veteran RN Goldsmith warned that eye appeal drives purchases at the American Furniture Mart market, with sturdy construction and material quality sacrificed for flashy finishes. Buyers favor ornate lines, while dealers anticipate spring orders to boost real buying. High Point firms like the High Point Furniture Company reported steady demand, and Continental and Tate showcased new maple and mahogany bedroom lines. Other represented firms included Globe Manufacturing, Globe Parlor Furniture, Knox Furniture, Marsh Furniture, and Union Furniture.
