A two alarm blaze last night leveled an unused iron clad building behind Mor Lo Furniture and Guilford Lounge on Tate Street. Firefighters contained the flames by dawn with water damage to nearby businesses and no reported injuries.

Teen Dies After Two-Car Crash in Thomasville

One Hurt One Dead In Wreck Near Wallburg

Ed Spainhour 63 of Thomasville is dead after a late night auto wreck near Wallburg. Herman Yokley of Route 2 suffered a severe head wound and was taken to High Point Memorial Hospital. Witness Chester Bodenheimer reported Yokley staggered to his porch with blood and the wrecked car was later found after a car left the road and ended in a mud ditch.
