Mine Fire Provides Own Escape
An underground conveyor belt fire trapped 14 miners at Pandora mine near Sullivan Indiana but opened an unblocked route to the bottom shaft. All 14 escaped safely while six more workers between the fire and shaft also escaped. two men were treated for smoke inhalation.
