Barber of Seville Enjoyable Opera by Rossini in Memorable Show
A Canadian Opera Company performance at Memorial Auditorium earned praise for Rossini's The Barber of Seville. Donald Rutherford as Figaro impressed with his stage presence and voice while Bernard Fitch and Steven Henrikson offered strong principal turns. Dodi Protero as Rosina shone in places, and Kathryn Newman proved versatile as Berta. Conductor John Fenwick balanced orchestra and chorus for a polished, engaging evening.
