ELIZABETH CITY Jan 24 A 58 year old Norfolk Southern bridge tender Joseph Upton Sr died in a local hospital eight hours after being knocked from the Pasquotank river bridge. His son Joe Jr, also knocked from the bridge, swam to help and aided in rescue before hospital transport.
