Trinity Library Buys Rare La Revue Des Deux Mondes Volumes
Trinity College Library in Durham reports an unusual purchase of 878 volumes of La Revue Des Deux Mondes from a German agent for only $65. The set, dating 1558 to 1914, and scarce on the American market, will be shelved in the basement and studied by Prof. A. M. Webb and Dr. F. A. G. Cowper as they outline the journal’s influence from its 1829 founding through the Commune and Franco-Russian War.

It cites the magazine's defense against claims of a literary coterie and argues later years featured fewer realistic and radical writers.
