Guilford County deputies said a 15 year old Jamestown Junior High student was forced into a car around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. The man, white in his early 20s, drove her to Yorkleigh Apts and attempted to rape her before returning her to the main road and fleeing toward Greensboro in a light blue Plymouth Duster with a white stripe.
In Asheboro a circulating petition with over 100 signatures seeks an Alcoholic Beverage Control store referendum. Willie Plummer backs the effort as sponsors plan to hand the petition to the city council once they feel the number is sufficient.
