NASA outlines Saturn 1 test with a 37 700 pound payload aiming to surpass Soviet satellites Sputnik 7 and 8 and the heaviest American space payload. The 151 foot tall vehicle uses eight engines and a second stage with six hydrogen engines to deliver 140 percent more thrust than kerosene fuels.
Indonesian President Sukarno pledged to keep pressuring Malaysia as Atty. Gen. Kennedy announced a three nation pact on steps toward peace. Malaysia and Indonesia agreed to halt border shooting and join a February Bangkok foreign ministers conference with the Philippines. Tuailand was asked to monitor the ceasefire.

A cancering agent was to be injected today into the remaining eye of 2 year old Vicki Wray of Bowling Green South Carolina at Duke Hospital. The Duke Hospital spokesman said results would determine if the eye should be removed. Vicki remains hospitalized into the weekend as the case drew national attention last month when her father, a $50 a week mill hand, could not afford lodging and planned to sleep in his car during treatment.
