Chicago January 28 AP reports The Chicago American claims Byron Bolton not involved in the St. Valentine day massacre. Bolton allegedly cleared of responsibility and implicated six associates in the seven killings. The piece notes the massacre remains a landmark Chicago crime.

Four men armed with revolvers hijacked a United States mail truck in Fall River Massachusetts. They forced driver Herbert Reid into a sedan with two other bandits, bound him with tape, and fled with about 129000 dollars in banknotes and silver from a shipment sent from the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston. Police issued a statewide dragnet as authorities tracked the route across the Taunton River into Swansea.

In a separate report from Winnsboro South Carolina a highway patrol official said a mannish looking woman seen near Winnsboro with a machine gun may be Thomas H Robinson Jr the suspect in the Stoll kidnapping case.

District administrators and farm supervisors from the North Carolina Emergency Relief administration arrive in Raleigh to confer with rural rehabilitation officials on the state rural relief program for the spring. The conference runs through tomorrow.
