About 200 spool spinning department workers walked out Monday after demands for arbiter grievance review were refused. United Textile Workers official C E Earnhardt said the company had granted a two per cent raise to 160 dollars weekly in the spool spinning dept, approved by the War Labor Board, but then removed 16 workers, cutting payroll by 500 dollars and boosting remaining workers’ load by about ten per cent.
