Everest climber Whittaker released after hand injury
Jim Whittaker, famed as the first American to reach the summit of Mount Everest, was released from a Seattle hospital after treatment for a severed tendon in his left hand. He sustained the injury when he cut himself on glass in his sporting goods shop.
