Public Urged To Get Third Vaccine Shot
In Raleigh on January 19 a State Medical Society spokesman urged people who had two Salk polio inoculations last summer to take the third shot now. Dr. S F Ravenel of Greensboro noted over 269000 vaccinations were given during the emergency campaign, mostly first and second doses. He called the third dose essential to bolster protection duration and ensure a final dose by March 1.

Hungarian Rebels Dudas Szabo Executed in Budapest Prison
Radio Budapest reports Josef Dudas and Janos Szabo, Hungarian rebel leaders, were executed in a Budapest prison. Dudas led a force that stormed the Foreign Ministry and seized Szabadnep. Szabo commanded fighters at Moscow Square. Szabo was later captured and convicted of espionage and illegal border crossing. The deaths raise official executions in Hungary to nine, with 24 death sentences announced.
