Lawmakers Debate Real Property Revaluation Timing
The general assembly weighs a cheaper revaluation method while arguing over its timing. Supporters led by R Baggett and J Folger contend early action calms farmers and landowners by spring, though Senator Ward says values won’t change with timing. Lindsey counters that early action risks tax hikes and greater unrest if valuations drop sharply.
