Designing golf courses with women's play in mind
Golf architect Raymond Loving Jr stresses fair design for women, from tee placement to cart paths and sight lines. He urges low rough, gentle bunkers, and greens without penalty hazards, adding that 5,000 to 5,400 yards suits most women and par 3s around 100 to 130 yards for a balanced par 72 course. He cautions against prioritizing length over fun and sportiness.
