Mrs. Lillian Alexander received an Honorary Life Chairmanship of the Gray Lady Service in the High Point Chapter of the American Red Cross. The award, dated January 14, included a certificate a special pin and a carnation corsage. The presentation followed a Gray Lady Board meeting and a small coffee gathering marking the service’s sixth anniversary.
Mrs Powell Alexander is honored by Gray Ladies at a January board meeting held at the home of Mrs W Page Harris. The event, to mark her years of service as chairman, featured corsages and a Red Cross pin indicating honorary life chairmanship. Ross Calvert leads the Gray Ladies with Mrs Haas and Mrs Harris also present.
Various groups in High Point schedule meetings at the YWCA and member homes. Events include junior league sessions at 10 and 2 pm, River Club dinner at the Sheraton, Fleurette Garden Club at Mrs. W. E. Davis’s home, Home and Garden Club at 1112 Roares, Guilford County Medical Auxiliary branch gathering, High Point Woman's Club illustrated talk by Mrs. David Yow, Out-Our-Way Garden Club with Ralph State as speaker, Modern Club Jamestown at Mrs. Elsie Saunders, and Friday Morning Music Club at Mrs. L. L. Wilkinson's home.

The Friendly Garden Club will hold its January meeting at Borden's Gold Room with Mrs. C. A. Hughes and Mrs. W. H. Jordan as hosts. R. K. Stewart will speak on Garden Personality, presenting ideas to members and guests.
Mrs J B E Slate of 1061 Rockford Rd will host the Rho Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi this evening at 8 p.m. Mrs Slate serves as chapter sponsor.
The Town and Country Garden Club will meet Wednesday at 10 a m at the home of Mrs. Irvin Black 317 Woodrow Ave Associate hostesses will be Mrs. Tom Elliot and Mrs. Leon Bernard
The Home and Garden Club announces its January gathering Wednesday at 10 with Mrs. Clyde Garrison presiding and Mrs. R. K. Stew as guest speaker. Readiness and other notes were mentioned, but details are incomplete.
Archdale School Parent Teacher Association gathers Monday at 7 30 p m in the school auditorium. Students from grades three through eight present a safety play titled Who Has More Influence. Linda Watson will lead the devotional.
