Lighting For Office Wins Prize
A downtown High Point office installation on the second floor of Perpetual Savings and Loan at 645 N Main St won first prize in a national contest. Raeford Norman of Bryant Electric Co. designed and installed the recessed 2x4 fluorescent units and received a $100 prize. Bob Hunt of Electric Supply Inc. earned $25 for supplying the fixtures. Norman, a Reidsville native and Navy veteran, described the lighting as high intensity and low brightness, providing 150 to 350 foot candles, with the system believed to be unique in High Point. The project involved Hanes-Millies Sales Corp and architect Leon Shute, with work completed last October and judged in December.
