North Carolina plans probes after gas cutback
Wooten questions why projections were inaccurate as the FPC moves to hold a new hearing. The governor’s spokesman says Holfhouser welcomes the reduced cutback but demands continued investigation and possible court action to divert gas. If cuts were as severe as first announced, 46,000 North Carolinians could lose work, fueling a utilities order to halt new gas customers until April 15.

Israeli troops crossed into southeast Lebanon for a second night and destroyed five houses believed used by Palestinian guerrillas in Halqa and Shuba. One Israeli was wounded, with reports of one guerrilla killed and two bridges and two water conduits blown up in a separate early Sunday raid.
