No Federal Action 60 000 Dock Workers Strike Atlantic Ports
The 60 000 member International Longshoremen’s Association walked out at midnight from Maine to Texas over a proposed contract. The strike follows last October’s slowdown and a Taft Hartley cooling off order. White House action appears unlikely. Over 20 ships left New York and other ports as ILA locals rejected the pact with the New York Shipping Association.
