The Safety Council of The High Point Enterprise urges readers to adopt resolutions emphasizing observing traffic signs and signals keeping brakes and lights in good condition avoiding drinking and driving and not speeding or weaving through traffic. Readers are asked to mail these pledges to show cooperation in making High Point a safer city to live in.
Raleigh on January 11 reports that dry cities and counties show the most convictions for drunken driving and license revocations. Charlotte leads with 258 revocations, Greensboro 15, Salisbury 10, Kannapolis 10, and Clinton 10. Wilmington, Wilson, Kinston, and Henderson show few, with none from Winston-Salem or Asheville.
