Prohibition Division Reports December Activity

The Fifth Prohibition Division completed 38 cases in December, eight state and the rest federal, led by chief R. Ts. Sams. Most cases involved thefts of stills and whisky, with 76 arrests tied to 88 cases last month. Agents seized 20 stills from unknown owners, and destroyed about 15,405 pails of mash and beer, valuing seized stills at $5,170. Sams said 26 miscellaneous misdemeanor cases were also processed.
