Venus Fly Trap Found In North Carolina Sanctuary
The Venus Fly Trap, a plant with animal like traits, grows only along the North Carolina coast and in parts of South Carolina. Since 1951 state law regulates its sale, making North Carolina a sanctuary that draws botanists to study its rapid jaw like traps and prey digestion. The plant rarely exceeds six inches, and despite catching insects it is not an effective pest control method.
