Guard Cleared in Fatal Avery Prison Shooting
Guard Dave S. Hall was cleared by an Avery County coroner jury in the fatal shooting of Martin Chudnick, 23, a Brookyn, New York inmate serving five to eight years for firearms robbery. Chudnick, who allegedly threatened guards with a home made dagger after returning to his cell, died Sunday of wounds from Friday's clash on the road gang.
