Proper Care Extends Poinsettias Beyond Christmas
Horticul tural guidance from Mrs. S C Clark outlines steps to keep poinsettias year after year. Water and warmth nurture plants through yellowing leaves, then cool storage at about 60 degrees in winter. In spring, replant, cut back, re-pot, and return outdoors for new growth. The poinsettia, native to Mexico, requires long nights of darkness to flower and careful pest control to thrive.
