North Carolina trims auto liability rate hike to five percent
North Carolina's insurance industry will reduce its private passenger auto liability rate request from 7.9 percent to 5 percent after clerical errors were found in company experience reports. General Manager Paul L. Mize of the Rate Administrative Office said the July 1976 filing will be amended, with further increases likely in July 1977 to cover rising accident rates and claim costs. He noted the 13.4 percent reduction order pending before the State Supreme Court and warned of industry losses without adequate future rate action.
