Stamp Collecting Proves Profitable for Soldiers Abroad
Manila reports show American troops turning to stamp collecting as a hobby and income source. Cpl. Nathan Deutsch of Forest Hills, N Y, runs a Rockerfeller Center shop and notes many auctions in Manila with soldiers as active bidders. He warns some buys may not hold value when home, while Japanese issues and local clubs drive rising prices for scarce stamps. His wife supports the venture, keeping collections active and expanding two new ones.

Revised low-cost textile program reshapes 1945 output
New York January 5 the civilian production administration issued a revised low-cost apparel and goods set aside program for the first quarter of 1946. Output set as aside for export and bag programs was reduced with Class A sheetings and osnaburgs cut to 55 percent of output from 66 three percent.
