Separate Rooms Important
Frances Jordan of North Carolina State University advises Raleigh parents of elementary students to design homes and furnishings around children needs. She notes children at this stage are socially and physically developing and in a lively phase that taxes furniture and floors. Provide sturdy items and indoor play space, with grid games and accessible storage. Encourage independence by teaching care of furnishings and assigning storage, keeping lower closets and reachable towel racks for easy use.
